The sickening incident took place at a branch of the popular fast food chain in Getzville, in the western part of the state.

When her mother looked closer, she was shocked to see that the red splatters on her food were not tomato sauce, but blood.
When the manager called the restaurant, he seemed to give a logical explanation. He told Floyd that a cook had cut his hand earlier that day.
Floyd calmly recounted the entire incident in a short clip he posted to Facebook. TikTok.
“I gave her the bag to eat her food and I heard ‘Mom, I don’t want ketchup,’ so I took the bag back because I thought they messed up the order. When I looked, I saw there was blood all over the bag, on the burger, the toy, her fries, everything,” Floyd said, wearing plastic gloves.
“I immediately told her to spit out her food. She did have fries and a little bit of her hamburger. And then I looked at my food, and there was blood on mine too,” she continued.

“I have contacted our local health department and they have filed a report, but there is not much more they can do for us,” Floyd explained, maintaining her composure.
In the video, which has been viewed nearly 3 million times, Floyd reveals that her daughter will have to undergo monthly blood tests for a year to ensure she has not contracted any blood-borne diseases.
The Niagara County Public Health Department also confirmed that they had called the Burger King location and that the manager had confirmed that an employee had cut his finger, but “didn’t think they were bleeding that badly,” Floyd recalled.
“This is a serious problem and now I have to wait a whole month before I can have my daughter tested for blood abnormalities.”
Floyd appeared even angrier on Facebook, describing herself as “furious” over Burger King’s careless handling of the incident.

People commenting online indicated that Floyd would quickly make plans to sue the restaurant after the incident.
“Get a lawyer. They can at least get you a settlement to cover the cost of medical tests etc. (and emotional damage too). Don’t do business with Burger King any longer, but get a lawyer first,” someone advised.
“That’s a legal case. Bodily fluids of any kind on food should be considered a biohazard,” agreed a second.
“The level of neglect is terrifying!!! I hope the blood test comes back normal,” wrote another user.
‘That’s scary! I’m not necessarily a huge germ phobic of most things but this would send me into a blind panic,’ added a fourth.
Burger King’s corporate office has offered to pay the family’s medical expenses following the incident.
“We did tell Burger King that the medical bills weren’t high enough,” Floyd told the New York Post.

“We were deeply upset and concerned. We have been in contact with the guest and are working with her to resolve this incident. This incident was the result of a team member in the restaurant injuring his finger and upon noticing it, immediately walking away.
“We closed the restaurant to retrain all team members and hired an outside company to conduct a deep cleaning,” the company explained.
“We expect the restaurant to reopen on Monday and will fully compensate all team members for any missed shifts during this temporary closure.”
