A pregnant mother has revealed some of the cruel taunts she received from trolls who declared her a ‘bad mother’ for letting her toddler sleep on a mattress on the floor and not having a strict sleep schedule.
Leah Vidaurre, 35, shared some of the feedback she’s receiving after being shamed for sharing some of her controversial parenting choices.
The content creator, from Cleveland, Ohio, is the mother of one-year-old Maximo and is 16 weeks pregnant with her second child.
Leah often posts her daily activities with her 75,500 followers in TikTok videos, including what her son eats, activities they do together and his routine.

The first opinion that divided social media users is that her son sleeps on a mattress on the floor, which she says he loves and she can also lie down perfectly.
However, the soon-to-be mother of two says there are people constantly shaming her parenting decisions.
In one video, which has been viewed more than 375,000 times, Leah revealed the three controversial parenting choices she has made.
The first opinion that divided social media users is that her son sleeps on a mattress on the floor, which he says he loves and which she can also lie on perfectly.
The mom hit back at naysayers, saying she followed a specific method after studying for a master’s degree in early childhood education — and that the mattress on the floor actually helps her son sleep.
‘I had seen the idea of a floor bed using Dr Maria Montessori’s methods on social media and I studied her methodology at school,’ Leah explained to NeedToKnow.co.uk.
The doting mother explained that she made this decision for “several reasons.”
“The biggest one was that my son wasn’t sleeping through the night, so I wasn’t getting much sleep,” she explained. “The more I read and researched about a floor bed, the more appealing it sounded to me.”
Leah’s second (and most) controversial parenting choice is Maximo not following a strict sleep schedule, with many users criticizing the mother for her lack of routine and wishing her the best of luck as her son starts school.

The mother has shared videos showing some of the mean comments she received from trolls
“It was tough when I was on a strict schedule,” the mother admitted. “Once I started monitoring his sleep cues, naps and bedtime became much easier.”
Leah said that in their household they had a “loose” schedule that they followed.
“Once my son goes to school, he doesn’t nap anymore, so his nap schedule doesn’t matter anymore,” she explained.
Leah also revealed that she stopped pumping six months after giving birth, but TikTok users were more supportive of the decision.
But unlike her other rules, Leah says people are particularly supportive of this one as many deal with the issues surrounding breastfeeding.
“I made this choice because I absolutely hated pumping,” she explained. ‘It hurt and being tied to the wall with a breast pump took a lot of time.’
Leah said she thought people were more supportive of this decision because they knew how difficult breastfeeding and pumping was.
“I had more time to spend with my son (and) my breasts weren’t sore all the time,” she said simply.
Unlike her other rules, Leah says people are especially supportive of her because many are dealing with the issues surrounding breastfeeding

While many support Leah and the way she chooses to raise her son, other viewers completely disagree and troll her for her choices.
Lily said: ‘I really don’t like it when people try to raise other people’s children. What works for you works and what doesn’t work.’
Another viewer commented: ‘This actually sounds pretty normal compared to the controversial parenting choices of others.’
‘Enjoy him going to school!’ one user wrote sarcastically.
“I would recommend lifting the bed at least slightly off the floor as beds on the floor can cause mold,” one person shared of her son’s sleeping method.
“Don’t worry, she doesn’t care what I saw,” another replied.
Some accused her of being a bad mother.
“Her whole story is just a danger to new mothers,” read one scathing comment.
“You’re a terrible mother,” another raged. “Your child will need extra support throughout his life because of your ignorance.”
However, some users stood up for Leah.
“Bc (because) it’s her kid,” one TikTok user exclaimed. “Why would she want to listen to a bunch of comments about how to take care of HER baby?”
