A Michigan mother heroically saved her two-year-old daughter’s life before she was killed by an out-of-control Jeep during a drag racing event.
The crash happened Sunday at Silver Lake State Park Sand Dunes in western Oceana County, about 270 miles northwest of Detroit.
Kadie Price, 33, was in the crowd with her family at a drag racing event in the dunes.
The driver of a modified 1980 Jeep CJ lost control, left the race track toward the crowd and struck another vehicle, police said.
The other vehicle, which was stationary when it was struck, then struck Price, but not before she pulled her daughter to safety.

Several people watching immediately tried to come to Price’s aid.
The rangers and staff at Silver Lake State Park came to her side and attempted to administer first aid, but were unsuccessful.
The accident took place around 11:37 am. Price was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
However, her daughter was able to avoid serious injury or worse, according to police.
“Please keep the Price family in your prayers,” the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
The driver of the Jeep that caused the accident, a 64-year-old man, has been identified.
However, his name is being withheld as an investigation is underway.
The 3,000-acre state park runs along the shores of Lake Michigan and contains approximately 2,000 acres of sand dunes.

The dunes also offer plenty of space for those who want to drive off-road recreational vehicles.
Two off-roaders drag racing on Sunday described the horror of the crash and the stunned silence of onlookers.
“I’ve been coming here for a long time,” Bryce Straubel said WOOD. “That was probably one of the most brutal accidents I’ve ever seen.”
“It breaks me,” he added. “People come here to have fun and this mother just lost her life. … She pushed her daughter aside to save her – it’s just hard to hear. It is real.’
Off-roaders Bryce Straubel and Paul Stanczak were drag racing on Sunday and saw the aftermath of the accident. They said people watched in silence as first responders dealt with the scene.
Everything was back to normal in the dunes on Monday, as a smaller than expected crowd raced vehicles and motorcycles.
Price worked as an automotive financial representative for Huntington National Bank.
