Mother, 29, gasps in fear when she realises the ‘door is open’ on a 36ft ferris wheel she is riding with her two-year-old son
A mother has recalled the horrifying moment she realized the door of a Ferris wheel was ‘open’ as she rode the attraction with her son.
Chloé Hennessey, 29, decided to take her two-year-old son Wolf to Adventure Island theme park in Southend-on-Sea last weekend when she claims the door to ‘City Wheel’ opened.
The mother, from London, claims her son noticed the problem while the pair were high in the air – and she captured the moment of terror on video.
The clip shows Wolf as the Ferris wheel begins to ascend, and he then appears to point out that the carriage door is unlocked.
Chloé then gasps and pulls the two-year-old away from the door.

She claims she was forced to hold the door closed as the wheel reached a height of 37 feet, while the pair were on board for about 15 minutes.
MailOnline has contacted Adventure Island for comment.
“My heart literally dropped and I immediately felt sick and filled with fear and anxiety,” she said.
“I tried to stay as calm as possible for Wolf, otherwise it could have been much worse.”
When the wheel finally lowered, Chloé was able to get an employee’s attention.
She claims that after she showed them the door wasn’t closed properly, they ran over to let her and Wolf out of the ride.
Chloé said: ‘They could see I was shaking and crying.
‘The staff advised me to report it to customer service and I did so.’

She has since taken to TikTok to share her experiences, with the video racking up more than half a million views to date.
In the clip, she describes the event as “one of the scariest days of my life” and says she has “nightmares like this.”
