An Australian fashion brand is struggling to hold on a winter base loved by influencers in stock as it proves to be so popular with many fans labeling the item as ‘best top ever’.
Mosman‘S iconic Brooklyn top has been praised by the likes of Elle Ferguson, Georgie Rafferty and Creator Katerina and shoppers are begging the brand to release it in additional colours.
Shoppers love the winter base so much so because of how flattering the top is, thanks to the clever double layer of fabric, with many sharing that they ‘live’ in the item.
Creative director and owner of the brand Deanna Depetro says she focuses on “fabrication and wearability” and said that “as a Melbourne brand, we know how cold it can get here in the winter. The fact that the top is double-layered is a huge bonus. It’s so warm it really looks like a thermal.’

The popular top also has thumbholes, a high round neckline, small ribbing, long body length and despite the double layer of fabric it is a lightweight knit with small ribbing.
Elle Ferguson described the top as ‘perfection’ and told her followers: ‘Public service announcement, everyone needs to go buy this Mossman top. Perfection! High neck, long sleeves and the fabric feels so nice!’
The black and white versions of the top are sold out and they are currently only available on pre-order but a number of new colors have recently been added to the collection for shoppers to choose from.

The new shades include a light pink, a natural oatmeal, Bordeaux, which Depetro said is “the color of the season,” as well as navy blue and chocolate available soon.
While fans of the brand were quick to praise the extensive palette available, many requested even more colors to be added to the collection.
Stylist Jess Ryan wrote: Please do red this season! I love these tops. They’re constantly in the wash while I live in them!’

Another fan wrote, “You continue to deliver the best Brooklyn top shades and like I’ve said before The Brooklyn. Top. Best. Top. Ever. Made. I have both the black and burgundy colors, but after seeing these beautiful colors I’m going to buy more!’
At $129, the top isn’t cheap, but many shoppers have reported that it has become a ‘staple’ in their wardrobe since purchasing and despite being a durable garment.
Creator Katerina shared on TikTok: ‘PSA for the best basic black top in the history of black tops. The most flattering, perfectly cut, cozy and warm, perfect winter staple. I bought it last year, since then it has been an indispensable part of my wardrobe and it lasts perfectly.’
