Mosman: Six young women and one male arrested after stolen Porsche crashes in one of Australia’s wealthiest suburbs

Six young women described by a witness as “teenagers” and one man have been arrested after a stolen Porsche crashed in one of Australia’s wealthiest suburbs.

Police were called to a house in Lalchere St, Curl Curl on Sydney’s Northern Beaches at 4.40am after reports of a burglary.

Upon arrival, they were told a Porsche Cayenne SUV had been stolen.

“A short time later, officers patrolling Balgowlah attempted to stop the vehicle, but it failed to stop and a pursuit commenced,” a police spokesman said.

The SUV then crashed into a concrete barrier on Spit Road in Mosman, where some of Australia’s wealthiest people live.

A witness told 2GB’s Ben Fordham that when he drove by shortly after the crash, “it looked like it was all girls in the gutter, handcuffed… young girls.”

The police spokesman said no one was injured in the crash, but “six women and one man, unknown in age, were arrested and taken to Manly and Chatswood police stations.”

One witness, Adam, said: ‘The Porsche was more or less in the middle lane and it looked like it was more or less stationary there…

“It looked like it was spun around, like they lost control or something. There were four police cars there blocking both lanes.”

He said the young women looked like “teenagers.”

“It seemed a bit strange, I was just driving by and saw a bunch of girls lying in the gutter.”

Two of the three southbound lanes on Spit Road, which connects Sydney’s north coast to the northern beaches, were closed following the crash.

The car has now been removed and the road has been fully reopened.

Photos from the scene show the Porsche’s airbags deployed and the wheel arch and right front bumper were damaged.

Locals in Balgowlah reported being woken by the sound of police sirens at around 4.50am.
