Why neighbours in a ritzy suburb have launched a manhunt for an innocent looking stranger wearing a cap – after his gross act is exposed

A resident of an upmarket suburb is furious after claiming a stranger dumped their meat and seafood scraps in their front garden.

The homeowner posted images on social media on Saturday of the serial litter bug and the rubbish it left behind on their Mosman lawn in North Sydney.

They accused the man – wearing a blue-collared shirt, black hat and sunglasses – of “repeatedly dumping seafood and chicken bones in the house.”

Images shared on Facebook show several lobster shells, dozens of shrimp tails and an oyster shell that the man carried in a “cotton bag stained by shellfish.”

“Aside from the illegal dumping, the stench is horrible for us and anyone who walks past,” the local resident said in the post.

They expressed concern that the man may have wanted to “poison” the brush turkeys that visit their home.

The homeowner took the matter to Mosman Council but claimed they ‘wouldn’t do anything’ because it was a ‘private matter’.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted the Mosman Council for comment.

The message sparked anger among locals, who described the act as “disrespectful and disgusting.”

“What kind of person would even think about doing this,” one user wrote.

“That’s just gross,” said a second.

A third said they “really don’t understand” why he dumped the food.

“Why wouldn’t he put it in his normal tank?” they asked.

Another theorized that he tried to throw away the food outside his home so he could avoid “the smell that lingered.”

“You’d think it would be easier to throw it in a public bin if he was worried about the smells,” a fourth commented.

Some advised the homeowner to “confront him,” but they responded that he would only be in the house for a few minutes before escaping.

Others jokingly noted that he had to “eat a lot of seafood and chicken” and that the act was “shellfishing” his.
