Mortal Kombat 1 Year 2 DLC Brings Scream’s Ghostface and 3 Other Ninjas to the Game

Mortal Kombat-1The coming year’s content will add six additional DLC fighters and new story content to the game, developer NetherRealm Studios announced at San Diego Comic-Con.

Ed Boon, Chief Creative Officer of NetherRealm, was on hand at SDCC 2024 to present a new Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath-style add-on called Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos ReignsBoon also confirmed that the following characters will be joining the series MK1‘s main selection in year 2:

  • Cyrax
  • Sector
  • Newcomer Saibot
  • Terminator T-1000 from Terminator 2: Judgment Day
  • Ghost face of Scream
  • Conan the Barbarian

Sektor and Cyrax can already be seen in Mortal Kombat-1 as Kameo Fighters, but the new versions of those characters are not those existing classic versions. Instead, the new Sektor and Cyrax appear to be female human versions of those cyborg ninjas. Voice actors Erika Ishii and Kaiji Tang have been confirmed to voice Sektor and Noob Saibot, respectively. (Tang also voiced Sub-Zero/Bi-Han in MK1.)

Kombat Pack 1 included six post-launch characters for Mortal Kombat-1: MK mainstays Quan Chi, Ermac and Takeda, and guest characters Invincible‘s Omni-Man, The boys‘ Homelander, and DC’s Peacemaker. Six Kameo Fighters were also released via DLC, with Mavado, Ferra, Tremor, Janet Cage, and Khameleon serving as assist characters.

The Mortal Kombat series typically features an incredibly diverse roster of guest characters, leaning on comic book, action movie, and horror movie villains and antiheroes to fill out the lineup. The previous game in the franchise, Mortal Kombat-11with John Rambo, RoboCop, the Terminator T-800, Spawn, and The Joker as guest fighters. Previous games featured Kratos from God of War, Xenomorph from Alien, and Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th as playable characters.

Mortal Kombat-1 is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X.
