Morgan Wallen POSTPONES opening of his Nashville bar over Memorial Day Weekend at last minute amid felony criminal case for THAT chair-throwing incident

Morgan Wallen has postponed the opening of his Nashville bar, which was set to open over Memorial Day Weekend, at the last minute.

Just hours before the location was set to open, Wallen’s revealed This Bar & Tennessee Kitchen in a statement Billboard that it wouldn’t be ready in time for the holiday weekend.

“We are proud of our team who worked tirelessly to get This Bar & Tennessee Kitchen by Morgan Wallen ready for opening. The basic construction of a six-story location launching with hundreds of team members is an enormous amount of work and a complex process,” TC Restaurant Group said in a statement to Billboard.

Organizers continued: ‘When we open, we want This Bar to be an exceptional experience for guests. Unfortunately, the process takes more time and we will not be able to open and provide that experience this Memorial Day weekend. Rest assured, it will be well worth the wait. We look forward to welcoming guests soon.”

TC Restaurant Group also owns a number of famous bars, such as Jason Aldean’s Kitchen and Rooftop Bar, Luke’s 32 Bridge Food + Drink, Miranda Lambert’s Casa Rosa and more.

At this time, a new opening date has not been set, but the location promised it would come “soon.”

A source told Billboard that “the restaurant/bar is awaiting final inspections, but declined to comment on whether TC Restaurant Group had been denied a catering license (which allows an establishment to sell liquor, wine and beer).”

However, the insider did clarify that the opening delay was not related to the Nashville Metro Council’s decision to reject his proposal for a 20-foot sign advertising his new bar in downtown Nashville.

Some fans expressed disappointment under the bar’s latest Instagram post, as they had already traveled to Nashville to check out the bar.

“Damn, I drove 12 hours for this,” someone wrote under the bar’s latest Instagram post.

Another follower said they were “quite disappointed” because they “bought a getaway hotel” with “a lot of hard-earned money.”

“I understand I’m not in control, but a message would have been nice or at least an announcement. We love Morgan Wallen and we are very excited to go to the opening of his bar. “Sorry for the rant, I’m a little disappointed,” the spokesperson said. their response.

On Tuesday, the Nashville Metro Council denied Wallen’s request due to his past controversies, including his arrest last month and past use of racial slurs.

During the vote, District 14 Council Member Jordan Huffman called the Heartless hitmaker’s actions “harmful” and the previous use of the N-word “hateful.”

Councilwoman Delishia Porterfield agreed as she gave an impassioned speech about wanting to “ensure Nashville is a supportive place for everyone.”

“I don’t want to see a billboard with the name of someone throwing chairs off balconies and making racist comments,” Porterfield explained of her decision to vote no.

Some found Porterfield’s words ironic when an X user wrote that it was “funny to hear inclusion language used to exclude someone for BS [bulls**t]while accusing the councilwoman of shutting out Wallen and his fans.

“If I were Morgan, I’d keep all my future Tennessee tours out of Nashville. Let them suffocate. If they don’t want him, they don’t deserve to benefit from the money he brings to their city,” one social media user suggested.

Another wrote, “He should put his bar just outside the Nashville city limits. I bet it’s full.’

Others noted that Wallen’s bar, This Bar and Tennessee Restaurant, was still open this weekend, and like a number of celebrity bars in downtown Nashville, a sign with his name will “eventually” go up.

Still, some haters wondered “how many chances” does Wallen get before something “doesn’t go his way.”

The Academy of Country Music announced that Wallen and his then-most recent album, Dangerous: The Double Album, would be ineligible for the 56th annual Academy of Country Music Awards.
