Morgan Stewart faces backlash after filming video about LA fire victims in front of her Birkin bag collection

Morgan Stewart has received backlash after she shared an emotional TikTok video on Thursday in which she spoke about the “horrific” fires in LA in front of a wall full of Birkin bags.

The 35-year-old Rich Kids Of Beverly Hills alumni explained at the beginning of the clip that both she and her family are safe, but expressed how “unfathomable” it was that thousands of people “lost everything.”

However, some fans were quick to point out in the comments section how the star filmed the movie while sitting next to an assortment of expensive Birkin bags – with one social media user calling the background ‘horrible’.

Stewart said she planned to share another video for the new year before the catastrophic wildfires started — which have since destroyed more than 12,000 structures and killed 11 people on Friday, per NBC.

The star – who is married to Dr. Phil’s son Jordan McGraw – stated that “what has unfolded over the past two days is simply the most horrific thing I have ever experienced.”

‘And fortunately I am safe, my family is safe. We had an evacuation notice last night, but people losing everything is horrible, really horrible.”

“I mean, the way the city is just being burned down after what has been such a horrible time post-Covid. Like, things haven’t been the same anymore.’

She added, “And if you grew up here, you know that. It was so magical being here when you were little.”

‘And now to think that all these people will move again, that is simply unfathomable. And the fact that people have nothing. They don’t have their house, they don’t have their clothes.’

‘They don’t have their memories. They don’t have their jewelry. They don’t have anything that…I don’t know,’ Morgan continued to think.

“I had to pack a bag last night because we had an evacuation order… And I was like, ‘What am I bringing?’ And I thought, “Leggings and notes my dad gave me and jewelry.”

“But I thought, the rest could really burn to the ground,” she said, adding after a brief pause, “Eh, terrible. Really terrible. So bad.’

However, in the comments section of the video, fans shared their thoughts on Morgan’s choice of background.

One wrote, “As you sit in front of countless Birkins… I feel your pain,” while another added, “Girl please, you really had to put that in the background.”
