Morgan Freeman returns to the small screen.
The 85-year-old actor has signed on to join the cast of Lioness, which co-stars Zoe Saldana and Nicole Kidman, according to Deadline.
The Oscar winner will play United States Secretary of State Edwin Mullin in the political thriller about a young Marine, played by Laysla De Oliveira, who is recruited by the CIA to befriend the daughter of a terrorist.

The idea behind the operation is to bring down the organization from within.
The Paramount+ show, created by Yellowstone executive producer Taylor Sheridan, is based on a real-life CIA show.
Zoe, who is also an executive producer on the project, will play Joe, the station manager on the show Lioness.
Co-stars: Zoe and Nicole are executive producers of the show. Zoe will play Joe, the station manager of the Lioness show. Nicole is also an executive producer on the series and will star as CIA senior supervisor Kaitlyn Meade, who has a history of playing and surviving in the political game.
Joe is responsible for training, managing, and leading female undercover agents.
