Moreton Bay: ‘Legendary’ garbo is praised for his thoughtful act
A 'legendary' The council worker has been praised for taking the extra time to collect bins that locals had not put out for collection.
The garbo was photographed on a street in Moreton Bay, north of Brisbane, emptying the bin before returning it to the property.
Residents quickly noticed the man's thoughtful act and thanked him on Facebook.
'[He] saw that the bins were behind a fence [and] not turned off, [he] bought them out [and]cleared the yellow [bin] and put it back,” one resident wrote.
“He's great he's been on our street and I've seen him take forgetful bins from someone's property,” said another local.

'Shoutout to this great guy.'
Others said he even picks up the bins if they fall over after they are collected.
Moreton Bay Council later confirmed that the friendly councilor's good deeds are in fact part of a service offered to some residents.
“About 20 percent of people in Moreton Bay live with some form of disability and many parts of our city have a significant proportion of older residents, so providing accessible infrastructure for all is something that is close to my heart,” Mayor of Moreton Bay Peter Flannery said Yahoo.
“The City of Moreton Bay remains a friendly place where people of all abilities can feel at home and welcome without discrimination.”
The garbage collection service is offered to people who have a physical disability and do not live with someone else who can take out their garbage.
About 270 residents currently use the free service.
