More Revolut red faces after boss hits wrong phone button
Revolut is investigating ‘thoroughly’ fiasco where former head of UK mistakenly messaged customer to say he would wait for him ‘with my shotgun’
Revolut said it was investigating “thoroughly” a fiasco in which the former British chief mistakenly messaged a customer to say he would be waiting for him “in the garden with my shotgun”.
James Radford, who left the UK’s most valuable fintech company for unrelated reasons last month, accidentally sent the message to his personal mobile after receiving several complaints.
The irate customer sent a slew of text messages and voicemails to Radford after their Revolut Business account was blocked, the Telegraph first reported.
Fiasco: James Radford accidentally sent the message to his personal mobile after receiving several complaints
The £26 billion financial services company has suffered several setbacks during its two-year battle for a UK banking license.
Radford, head of Revolut NewCo UK and key figure in the platform’s fight for a license, had wanted to text someone else: “Don’t worry, I’ll be in the garden with my shotgun waiting for him.”
Obviously, this was in reference to a suggestion that the person might approach Radford personally.
A Revolut spokesperson said: “We take allegations seriously and are investigating thoroughly.”
