Astro bot Creative director Nicolas Doucet has confirmed that the game will receive free DLC that could include a new set of VIP bots that were already seen in the credits, but not yet in the base game.
The news comes via an interview with Doucet from the YouTube channel Daily questThe director says the DLC expansions will be free and will be released this year. They will add new speedrun levels and stages that offer a greater challenge, as well as brand new leaderboards.
Perhaps most interestingly, Doucet says the DLC will add new collectible VIP bots, and that they will be “some characters that we haven’t added yet.” A look at Astro bot‘S credits – as marked by VGC – shows some games and series that are listed in the credits and not in the base game.

Astro bot goes out of its way to pay homage to PlayStation’s legendary back catalogue – I certainly wasn’t expecting deeper cuts like Devil’s Dice, Incredible Crisis And Intelligent Qube – but there are some notable omissions such as Last fantasy And Twisted metal which are currently not included in the selection, despite their appearances in previous titles such as Astro’s playroom.
It is unclear how long a roadmap will take Astro bot has a lot of post-launch content at the moment. But considering it’s easily one of the highest rated games of the year, it’s easy to see Team Asobi delivering new updates as long as there’s interest from the player base.
