Morbidly-obese Texas ‘redneck babe’ stands trial for raping male relative, 12, then bragging to neighbors about it: Also accused of ‘murdering’ man while out on bail

A morbidly obese Texas woman was on trial for raping her 12-year-old male relative and is also accused of stabbing a man to death while out on bail.

Brittany Ann Rouleau, 38, faces life behind bars on charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child and prohibited sexual conduct with a family member.

The 38-year-old is also charged with the murder of Kenneth Douglas, 57, who suffered a single stab wound to the heart, according to preliminary autopsy reports.

Testimony began Wednesday before a jury of nine men and three women, with the prosecutor, led by Chelsea Carlton, informing the jury that the trial would be “rough.”

According to Carlton, Rouleau and the victim, who is now a senior in high school, had a happy relationship during his early childhood.

However, after a traumatic event occurred in the family, Rouleau’s home was no longer a safe place. Rouleau is accused of sexually assaulting the boy in 2018, when he was 12. Texomen reported.

Rouleau’s defense, led by public defender Lee Ann Marsh, painted a different version of events, claiming the 38-year-old was in fact the victim of the assault.

Marsh said the incident occurred after Rouleau and the victim got into an argument, and said the 12-year-old sexually assaulted Rouleau while she was unconscious following the altercation.

Carlton called the alleged victim just after 11 a.m. Wednesday to testify. The now 18-year-old testified that Rouleau treated her like a boyfriend and asked to hug him when he was just 11 or 12 years old.

The alleged victim then detailed multiple instances of sexual activity between himself and Rouleau – which he testified he had not wanted to participate in and that he felt wrong after the incidents occurred.

Rouleau’s former neighbor was also called to the witness stand and revealed shocking details about the alleged abuse.

Brandy Winfrey, the former neighbor, testified that while she and Rouleau were driving to the food bank together in 2020, Rouleau became lost and visibly irritated.

Winfrey revealed that Rouleau told her she had sex with the victim when he was 12 years old and confessed to it happening multiple times.

Although Winfrey didn’t believe Rouleau at first, she called child protective services to report her.

During cross-examination, Marsh questioned Winfrey about her history of drug use and she revealed that when she met Rouleau, she was on probation for drug possession.

Winfrey was certain Rouleau was “high” when she told her about the sexual abuse of her 12-year-old relative.

Another witness called to the stand was Robert Welch, a detective with the Wichita Falls Police Department.

Welch testified about the victim’s first forensic interview – which took place in September 2020, as well as his investigation into Rouleau’s sexual abuse allegations.

The detective stated that he could not collect physical evidence because too much time had passed between the alleged abuse incident and the forensic interview.

According to Rouleau’s social media accounts, she is a “Countrybumpkin” and a “Real RedNeck Babe.”

Her Facebook account suggests she was in a relationship with Douglas before the stabbing. On March 22, 2022, Douglas updated his relationship status on the social network to “in a relationship with Brittany Ann.”
