Tim Walz was pictured absorbing his election loss with his cat by his side as he sat in his Minnesota home as his daughter insisted he would be fine.
The failed vice presidential candidate wore a sweatshirt, gray pants and sneakers as he lounged with his cat on his lap in the photo shared by his daughter Hope Walz on her Instagram.
“The earth keeps turning and we live to fight another day,” the doting daughter captioned her photo.
It was the first post-election look at a Walz after he became emotional during Vice President Kamala Harris’ concession speech on Wednesday.
He was pictured tapping his heart as he appeared to hold back tears as Harris thanked him and his family.

Walz then posted his thoughts on the election.
“Thank you Vice President Kamala Harris for trusting me and selecting me as your running mate,” he wrote on X.
“Campaigning alongside you has been the honor and privilege of my life.
“While the outcome is not what we wanted, I am grateful to the millions of Americans who joined our campaign and stood up for our greatest ideals: decency, compassion and love for our neighbor,” the Minnesota governor continued.
“Now more than ever, we need you to keep fighting for those values and the country we all love.”
Walz will now remain governor of Minnesota with two years left in his term.

He has now vowed to keep fighting for The Gopher State, and on TikTok on Thursday, his daughter shared a video of her driving, with her brother Gus in the passenger seat.
‘For the first time we are driving without a secret service!’ Heap said in the short video.
“We’re listening to Tom Petty’s I Won’t Back Down, and we just wanted to say how much we appreciate everyone. We love you all.”
She went on to tell her followers, “Our dad is doing great and he is ready to continue the fight here in Minnesota – because it will be a safe place for everyone.
“We’ll be fine,” Hope assured her followers. “It’s going to be okay, everyone.”
