A huge brawl broke out on an unassuming suburban street in Far North Queensland, involving as many as fifty people.
The altercation happened on McEwen Street in Mooroobool, Cairns, at around 4.20pm on Saturday.
Queensland Police confirmed an incident had occurred but no formal complaint was made.
It is believed several members of the altercation were armed with knives and sticks.
It’s not the first time the suburb has made headlines for violent behavior.

On the afternoon of July 22, 2023, a wild street fight took place on Dunbar Street, with 30 men, women and children pelting stones at each other..
Many also carried hammers and machetes.
Long-term resident Peter Walker said at the time that he had seen the alarming events unfold from his home but was too scared to leave the house.
“One guy had a knife and the guy had a hammer and one had a long pole,” he said.
“The police arrived and blocked the street and people backed up and went the other way.
“There were children and women and dogs and they were pelting stones, plus this guy with a knife and hammers.”

At a New Year’s Eve party in 2022, a brawl involving up to 30 people resulted in the fatal stabbing of a 17-year-old boy in Manoora.
A second 17-year-old Mooroobool boy also went to Cairns Hospital after suffering bottle stab wounds to the shoulder and kidney region.
According to Red suburbswhich tracks crime rates in every local government area in Australia, Cairns ranked 84th out of 100 for its crime rate.
