Two young boys have been killed after the car they were driving crashed into a tree.

The vehicle, which also contained a nine-year-old girl, hit the tree on Grand Parade in Monterey, just south of Sydney Airport, around 9:50 p.m. Friday.

The two boys, aged nine and 10, were treated at the scene before being taken to Sydney Children’s Hospital, where they died.

The little girl was taken to the same hospital with minor injuries.

The 33-year-old driver of the car was not injured. He was taken to St. George Hospital for mandatory tests.

A crime scene has been set up.
