Montana man records shocking up-close footage of UFO rotating in air that made his wife ‘cry’
A man from a small town in Montana captured footage of an unidentified flying object (UFO) and shared the shocking video, which left his wife “crying,” on Reddit.
The video was recorded between 10:10 and 10:15 p.m. Friday and showed what appeared to be a flashing spaceship flying through the clear night sky.
The object would spin and be decorated with a series of rotating lights, flying over the tiny town of Choteau, home to just over 1,700 people.
The videos, along with the original poster’s extensive account of the sighting, show how the man and his wife initially mistook the unknown object for a meteor.
This came after Montana was designated a hotspot for UFO sightings, with visitors capturing some of the most significant and well-documented images.
A man in a small town in Montana has captured footage of an Unidentified Flying Object. The video was filmed between 10:10 and 10:15 a.m. Friday and appears to show a flashing craft streaking through the sky

“Friday night my wife and I were sitting on the patio looking at the stars. We do that every night,” wrote the anonymous poster, who goes by the username PoneThePoon.
‘Just after 10pm my wife asked, “Is that a shooting star?” which I thought was strange, because otherwise I wouldn’t have had time to look at it.
“The tree right next to me was blocking the direction she was staring, so I stood up and looked, and my jaw dropped,” he continued.
“I said, ‘Holy shit. Holy shit!’ and we both jumped off the deck and went out into the yard to get a better look.”
Three separate fragments show a light in the distance that appears to be spinning in the sky, and the edge of what appears to be a spaceship.
The town is sparsely populated, with a population of just over 1,700, and has exceptionally clear air
He said that after a few minutes his wife ran away crying at the sight of it.
“The craft looked huge, miles away,” he recalled, adding that it had several flashing and spinning lights and a spinning orange-red light on the bottom.
“You can just see the orange/red light on the video,” he explained, revealing. “We watched it for 2-3 minutes as it kept flying away, and then it was just gone.”
‘Not a sound, it was just gone.’
He also recalls how, after capturing the photos and videos on his wife’s Galaxy Fold 4, he tried to do the same on his Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra.
But, he said, the phone “went off before my eyes.”
The man who filmed the clips posted them to Reddit and was quickly met with awe
He rushed to grab his charger and continued using his wife’s phone to take “countless different zoomed-in photos and videos,” he recalled.
“What I have here is the best we’ve been able to achieve so far. For a late-night phone recording, this was really far away, so I’m happy with what we got.”
On the possibility that it was an Elon Musk-made satellite, he said: “I don’t believe this was Starlink.”
‘Since I noticed this, I have watched a lot of Starlink videos. It showed that our lights were rotating/blinking, not a static line of unchanging lights.
“When we went inside to see exactly what we had captured, my wife was shaking and crying from the experience,” he concluded.
“It was quite scary, I couldn’t fall asleep until 4am and it was my night to provide the early feeding for our twin boys.”
The Reddit post was quickly met with awe from commenters.

“Really cool images. Good explanation too,” wrote the viewer, impressed by the post.
“Kudos. Don’t let them disappear into the abyss now. Good images have a tendency to disappear inexplicably,” the person added.
“Download it and keep copies,” said another, as the post was upvoted more than 3,200 times in less than a day.
“This could have been the best UFO video ever if the sky was a little brighter,” added a third top commenter. “Frustrating, but definitely interesting.”
When we asked what others thought about the sighting, most seemed at least open to the idea that the craft is something that cannot be explained.
“Awesome!” wrote one commenter on Monday after the post was flooded with responses.
At the time of writing, the origin and nature of the aircraft in the sparsely populated areas were still unknown. No other reports of the sighting have surfaced
“You need to download the Phenom app and post this there!” the person added. “It can’t be taken down or banned by anyone online… This is amazing footage.”
The origin and nature of the apparent craft remain unknown. No other reports of the sighting have surfaced.
Montana has become a hotspot for UFO activity in recent years, possibly due to the state’s low population density and vast, desolate plains.
In 1950, two spinning disks were apparently seen flying over Great Falls and captured on a handheld camera, producing footage that to this day defies conventional explanation.
In the 1960s, UFOs were sighted over the Minuteman missile bases, which at the time were home to a massive arsenal of nuclear missiles in the middle of the Great Plains.
In separate incidents that occurred while the alleged UFO was overhead, several nuclear missiles were suddenly disabled, confusing the launch officers.
The US Air Force reportedly ordered these men never to tell anyone what had happened, according to books such as Montana UFOs and Extraterrestrials by Joan Bird.
The report examines such events and the reason why they occur in the state. Many reports of this remain unexplained, both in government and private circles.
