A brand new trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds debuted at the end of this year’s Summer Game Fest showcase.
With a 2025 release date (still no release date, unfortunately), the latest trailer for the upcoming Capcom title showed off the game’s narrative chops, with plenty of cutscenes showcasing the focus on voice acting. And for the first time in the series, the player’s fighter will also be fully voiced.
We see a brief bit of gameplay of the hunter and their companions dodging monsters in the midst of a massive sandstorm. It also demonstrates their ability to instantly switch between two weapon types; another first for the series.
This new trailer also introduces a brand new big monster. He looks a bit like a Lagiacrus crossed with a Gigginox, with an almost featureless face aside from his glowing, gaping mouth. The slippery form also seems to easily wrap itself around objects and rock formations, which is likely to be a very unpredictable enemy.
About a minute and a half into the two-minute trailer, we see the introduction of another new large monster. It takes the form of a huge pterodactyl-like creature that can shoot lightning. Your typical Monster Hunter rate then.
Finally, the trailer ends with some bonuses that players can earn in the new game. By importing Monster Hunter world And Monster Hunter World: Iceborne store data in Monster Hunter Wilds Players can receive the Felyne Leather and Felyne Duffel armor sets for their cat companion, as well as a few weapons for them.
While we are still waiting for a concrete release date for Monster Hunter Wilds after 2025, you can wishlist it on PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC.
