Monster Hunter Rise is delisting the Sonic DLC in January

Capcom has announced that it will remove a number of components from the fair Monster Hunter is rising collaborative content in January.

This comes from a new post shared on Twitter today (November 29), in which the publisher stated that the Sonic the hedgehogUniversal Studios Japan and Sengan and DLC content will no longer be available in-game for download after January 21, 2024 (via VGC).

Players who currently own the DLC can continue using it as long as they download it before the deadline.

However, once the content is deleted, even those who own the content will no longer be able to download it and therefore cannot receive the rewards or the respective quests.

“Please download this free content before (January 21) to continue using it normally. You can’t download it again,” Capcom said.

Sonic the hedgehog

  • Event Quest: You need to hoard quickly!
    Rewards: Sonic Costume Palico Armor, Tails Canyne Layered Armor, Sonic, Knuckles, Tails Figurines.
  • Event Quest: Super Shay lookalike
    Rewards: Sonic Wear Hunter layered armor

Universal Studios Japan

  • Event Mission: USJ – Shine Showdown!
    Rewards: Azure Star Blade Weapon, Azure Era Wyrmbow Weapon
  • Event Mission: USJ – Azuros Attack!
    Rewards: Azure Era Palico Set
  • Downloadable Palico: Meow Limit!

Sengan-en

  • Downloadable Palico: Yasu

Capcom has not stated the reason for the content’s removal, but it is likely due to an expired licensing agreement.

Similar licensing issues have arisen before, as in the case of Friday the 13th: The game which will be forced to close its online servers indefinitely in 2024 after its license expires and is withdrawn from sale at the end of 2023.
