Monopoly game ends in bloodshed after man conjures samurai sword in succession over players making too much noise

A Monopoly game ended in bloodshed after a man spawned a samurai sword in a row over the players and made too much noise.

The group was reportedly playing the board game on the sidewalk of a street in the municipality of Vorst, Belgium, when they were confronted by an annoyed neighbor on Sunday.

Complaining that it was already 5 a.m. and that he couldn’t sleep because of the noise they were making, the man tried to drive them away with a stick he had been carrying in his hand.

When he failed to do this and they all started fighting, his son came out of the residence with the katana sword. He then engaged in a physical fight with one of the Monopoly players, damaging the sword’s scabbard and exposing the blade, severing them both.

Both men were immediately rushed to hospital, but while the Monopoly player was released the next day after medical checks and follow-up by the police, the owner of the katana had to be held up after suffering a deep cut to an artery.

Belgian media revealed that his condition is still serious.

A katana sword, a deadly Japanese weapon, is characterized by a curved, single-edged blade with a round or square guard and a long grip for two hands.

It was reportedly used by samurai warriors in feudal Japan and worn with the brim turned up.
