Mongols clubhouse raided in Blacktown, western Sydney

Dramatic footage captured the moment police used a chainsaw to raid a bike club.

Raptor Squad officers were seen using a circular hand saw to break into the Mongols’ headquarters in Blacktown, west of Sydney, on Friday.

Officers carried out the raid as a reminder that “no illegal behavior will be tolerated” ahead of the club’s four-day “national run” in Victoria on Wednesday.

In the clip, Squad Raptor is locked in the clubhouse when an officer yells, ‘Police! Search warrant! Open the door!’

Heavily armed officers quickly open a closed and locked door using a joystick and ram, setting off a security alarm.

Once inside, hand-shake shots reveal a surprisingly clean, warehouse-style man cave that any blockhouse would be proud of.

In the center of the room is a pool table, protected by what appears to be a glass dust cover, which is well flanked by two Harley Davidson motorcycles.

Out back is a large, clean bar, no empty bottles or cans, no dirty glasses or unwashed dishes, bar a stray cup of coffee.

Instead, bottles of what appear to be hand sanitizers and cleaning products are visible on the bar.

On the wall are various large depictions of the cycling hero, the 12th century warlord Genghis Khan.

The first president of the Mongolian bicycle club named the club in honor of Genghis and his empire, the largest in history.

The club’s insignia, Genghis on a bicycle, with sunglasses and top-knots, is a registered trademark in the United States.

An impressive, spotless mirror proudly checks out the Blacktown name and ‘1%’ symbol, widely used by outlaw biker gangs.

Important creature comforts also abound inside the club, not least the large wall-mounted speakers.

The room is surrounded by generously cushioned seats and sofas, and some cafe-style chairs and tables, which appear to hide.

There are large outdoor gas heaters to ward off the cold air, a whiteboard, with a motivational phrase worthy of any sports team, ‘the best of the best’.

A NSW Police statement was released but did not mention the charges laid.

“During a search of the premises (on October 6), police allegedly found and seized a number of items consistent with the illegal sale and supply of alcohol, including bar stools, lounges, refrigerators and alcohol,” the statement said.

Detectives also spoke with a 57-year-old man.

The Raptor Squad will monitor the bike ‘run’ and ensure that all riders obey the law and obey the rules of the road.

Raptor Squad Commander Detective Superintendent Stuart Gordon said NSW and Victoria police would work together “to prevent criminal activity and ensure the safety of the public”.

“We have committed a significant number of resources to join our southern counterparts in policing the escape, including officers attached to the Southern Region and the Traffic and Highways Patrol Command,” said Det A/Supt Gordon.

“No illegal behavior will be tolerated – whether on or off the road – and, as well as minimizing the impact of travel on other drivers, police will target any anti-social behaviour.”
