All lanes of a major Melbourne highway have been closed after a serious crash.
The collision happened just before 7am on Wednesday on the Monash Freeway in Dandenong North.
Traffic to the South Gippsland Freeway is backed up for miles as commuters head to work, with all inter-city lanes closed between the EastLink Road exit and Wellington Road.

Motorists have been told to expect delays of around 50 minutes, with commuters urged to use the Princes Highway or Wellington Road instead.
It is not known whether anyone was injured in the collision.
