A mall security guard appeared fearless as he tackled a teenage robber wielding a hammer as he and his accomplices pulled off a heist at a jewelry store in Canada.
Cell phone footage captured by shocked bystanders captured six mall officers rushing to the scene after witnessing the robbery at White Carat Co at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Diamond at the Brampton Mall on the outskirts of Toronto, Ontario.
The trio of thieves could be seen smashing glass display cases as they ransacked the premises and dumped the contents into backpacks in an attempt to make off with as much as they could before being apprehended.
Six security guards quickly arrived on the scene, while a male officer bravely tackled the man who appeared to be the ringleader, armed with a hammer.

At one point, the hammer-wielding robber tried to intimidate security by standing on the display case

“Drop the damn hammer!” the officer asked several times, but the robber refused.
The man then tried to appear even more threatening and climbed on top of one of the suitcases while holding the gun in the air before jumping off the suitcase.
Security was then able to arrest the man on the ground.

Other mall security guards quickly rushed to the scene with six people inside the store at one point.

Other robbers managed to escape from the clutches of security personnel at the mall
As a team, the group managed to apprehend the arrested teenager, while his two black hoodie-wearing accomplices, in disguise, fled and escaped the clutches of guards, who were unable to hold on.
Police said the trio demanded money and jewelry before taking a “significant amount of merchandise” from the broken display cases.
Evan Sosa-Reyes, 18, of Brampton, Ont., has been charged with theft and wearing a disguise.
No physical injuries were reported by store employees or security officers.
