Moment two men rob a mail carrier in broad daylight and point a gun to her head all to get her phone and keys to mailboxes: ‘I thought he was going to shoot me when he was done’

This is the moment two men robbed a postman in broad daylight and pointed a gun at her head in a brazen robbery on a sun-drenched street.

The terrifying incident happened around 4:30 PM on Monday in Dublin, California, when two masked robbers ran up to a postal worker as she was putting items in a mailbox.

One of the unknown thieves pointed a gun at her head as they ripped the mail from her hand before running away with her mailbox keys and her phone.

This was told by the postal employee (63), who wanted to remain anonymous KTVU she is afraid to return to work because of the incident.

“I thought he was going to shoot me when he was done, but in my mind I’m like, stay calm, stay calm, stay calm,” she said.

Video of the traumatic encounter shows the unsuspecting female employee putting mail into a mailbox while her truck is parked behind her.

The two suspects then sneak behind the truck and approach her.

One of them grabs her by the waist as she screams, while the other runs after him.

She then passes her keys to the man with the gun before the three of them head to the truck while making her give her her phone.

One of the robbers sticks his head into the truck to look at her while the other stands behind him and looks around the area. Seconds later, the armed robber pushes her out of the truck before going back inside, taking her keys and running away with his accomplice.

The video ends with the employee standing alone and holding her face in shock as she tries to understand what happened.

“Someone came behind and boom, just hit me and put a gun to the back of my head,” she said.

“And he said, ‘Give me your keys, you don’t want to die, do you?'”

The employee said the robbers gave her two minutes to get her phone and keys for them.

Although she suffered no physical injuries, she was emotionally and mentally frightened.

“It’s been really hard, I mean it’s like I can’t sleep, I can’t think, I mean it’s like my heart is pounding,” she said.

The employee said she received help from a psychiatrist to deal with the trauma. She told KTVU that she worked for the US Postal Service for 33 years and planned to retire in about a year and a half.

The employee said she wants to return to work and believes her love for the job will inspire her to return.

“I love my customers, I want to serve them,” she added.

A neighbor captured video of a blue sedan driving to and from the scene of the crime that could belong to the suspects. The US Postal Inspection Service is offering a reward of up to $150,000 for any information leading to the arrest of the two robbers.

It is considered a federal crime in the US to rob a postal worker. They may face state and federal charges.

The federal agency said at least six postal workers have been robbed in the Bay Area since April.
