Petty theft! Moment two armed robbers, both under five feet tall, rob New Jersey Best Buy while trying to steal iPhones, causing customers and staff to flee

New Jersey police are hunting two short suspected robbers who held Best Buy employees at gunpoint.
The petty criminals, described as both being under five feet tall, attempted to steal several iPhones from the store in Nixon Drive, New Jersey.
Mount Laurel police were called to the ongoing robbery on April 30 at around 1:30 p.m. It is not clear whether the robbers stole any goods.
Both suspects fled the store in an early 2000s silver Acura TL with temporary license plates and dark-tinted windows before police arrived on the scene.
Surveillance footage shows the suspects attempting to steal iPads and iPhones from the store before an employee intervened.

A suspect in a blue jumpsuit then started pointing his Glock 9mm pistol at members of staff, but they made no verbal threats.
Both men fled the store before police arrived, and officers have now released footage and are appealing for help in identifying the suspects.
A Best Buy spokesperson said, “Nothing is more important to us than the safety of our customers and employees, and we are thankful that no one was injured in our bay store on Sunday.
“We are focused on supporting our employees and are working closely with law enforcement during their investigations.”
Speaking at a press conference, Lieutenant Ryan Orange said, “To do something like that in the middle of the day on a Sunday when people are out shopping is incredibly daring and so we’re going to do everything we can to get them.”
“If you see the suspects, call 911 immediately, we consider them armed and dangerous.

In a statement, the Mount Laurel Police Department said: “On Sunday, April 30, 2023, at approximately 1:30 p.m., officers responded to Best Buy on Nixon Drive for an armed robbery in progress.
“Upon arrival, the suspects had left the scene in an older silver Acura TL with an unknown temporary license plate. The vehicle has a dark tint on all windows.
The suspect in the blue jumpsuit pointed a firearm at several employees as he tried to take iPhones off the display.
“Both suspects are reportedly under five feet tall.”
