Moment Southwest Airlines flight attendant kicks couple off plane after ‘intoxicated’ mother was seen ‘doing cartwheels while drinking wine’

A viral video posted online shows the moment a Southwest Airlines flight attendant kicked a couple off a plane after a woman allegedly drunkenly did cartwheels before boarding.

The video, first posted to Reddit in June, shows an angry flight attendant and airline worker banning at least two people from boarding the plane before takeoff.

The unidentified flight attendant repeatedly tells the couple to walk away, saying they are “jeopardizing the safety of this plane.”

At one point, the Southwest employee says she personally witnessed the woman doing cartwheels at the airport, and that she drank alcohol in the terminal.

“You’re floating on the ground, you’re captivating, you’re loud, you want everyone’s attention,” the flight attendant tells the woman. “The whole crew saw it and we all agree you shouldn’t come here.”

The passengers on the plane have not been identified and it is unknown if they suffered any other consequences related to the incident.

The incident happened just before a Southwest Airlines flight took off

The three-and-a-half-minute video begins with the flight attendant telling the couple to “walk away,” prompting the man to respond, “You’re shaking.”

She replies that she is angry and that she is concerned that the couple is endangering her own safety and that of others on the plane.

One commenter on Reddit wrote that he wasn’t surprised that the flight attendant was shaking: “Yes, she’s a flight attendant, not a bouncer, and she doesn’t know how crazy you idiots are going to get.”

Thousands of users discussed the woman’s apparently drunken state and her words, which she insults throughout the video.

The woman – who says she works with children – tries to justify the “cartwheels and backbends” at the airport as the flight attendant remains firm.

At one point she asks the flight attendant for a sobriety test, slurs her words, and then says she’s going to post the video online.

The woman reportedly admitted to drinking at least one glass of wine, which the flight attendant said gave her justification for putting them out.

“So anyone who has had one drink can’t get on this plane,” the woman sneers.

“Anyone who exhibits drunken behavior is not allowed to board a plane,” the flight attendant responds.

“Do I look drunk now,” the woman asks.

“Yes, that’s right,” the flight attendant answers without hesitation.

“Anyone who exhibits drunken behavior will not be allowed on an airplane,” the flight attendant says at one point

Another man – believed to be a Southwest or airport employee – supports the flight attendant throughout the video and tells the couple to leave

The video continues with the woman noting that she has to board the plane because there are children waiting for her at home that she needs to return to.

“Well, that’s a shame,” the flight attendant says.

Just before the clip disappears, the flight attendant tells the couple that they are violating federal aviation regulations by filming her without her consent.

She asks another employee to delete the video, but apparently that didn’t happen.

The video provoked a strong reaction among social media users on X, formerly Twitter, where it received more than nine million views.

‘They were very drunk, so I can’t blame her. Reliability.’

‘Good for the flight attendant. She handled herself very well.”

‘Cartwheels over the airlift? Um, bye bye.”

“LMFAOOOO Southwest needs to give her a raise, I don’t know.”

On Reddit, many noted that there were more levels

“The flight crew works virtually as an extension of the FAA and you are trained never to allow visibly intoxicated people on board,” wrote user CounterfeitRed.

They noted that intoxication levels change in the air and at high altitudes, so the flight attendant may have been trying to protect the couple from themselves.

“At higher altitudes, the effects of alcohol and drinking may be more pronounced than at lower altitudes,” the Shah Law Firm said.

“Because of lower oxygen levels, people tend to get drunk more quickly, leading to greater impairment of judgment and coordination,” the agency noted.

Just before the clip disappears, the flight attendant tells the couple that they are violating federal aviation rules by filming her without her consent.

However, not everyone online sided with the flight attendant, as some claimed she came across as smug and as if she was enjoying a ‘power trip’.

‘Since when can you not be drunk on a plane? I see people wasted all the time on planes and at the airport lol.”

“Someone didn’t make the high school cheer team.”

“To be honest, I don’t like their attitude.”
