Moment Serena Williams makes BRUTAL dig at controversial Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker… while he is sitting in front of her at the ESPYs
Serena Williams lashed out at Harrison Butker onstage at the ESPYs on Thursday night… while he was sitting just feet away from her.
The 42-year-old tennis icon made the meteoric rise of women’s sports a key part of the evening during her presentation at the Dolby Theater, frequently paying tribute to the WNBA’s newfound popularity and other successes.
Butker was in the audience to attend the ESPYs, exactly two months after he delivered a highly controversial speech at the graduation ceremony in which he said women are “housewives.”
While making comments on abortion, Joe Biden and the Covid-19 pandemic, Butker told female college students in Kansas: “I bet most of you are most excited about marriage and the children you are going to bring into this world.”
During the ESPYs, Williams didn’t seem to want Butker to get away with it, making a very pointed remark to the Chiefs kicker while he was in the room.

Butker attended the awards ceremony and was previously photographed alone on the red carpet
During a segment where Serena, her sister Venus and comedian Quinta Brunson talked about women’s sports, Venus said, “So just enjoy women’s sports like you enjoy other sports, because they are sports.”
Serena added, “Except you, Harrison Butker. We don’t need you.”
Brunson digs even deeper into the matter, adding, “Not at all. Never.”
The camera didn’t focus on Butker in the audience, but he had previously been seen alone on the red carpet and was reportedly in attendance at the ceremony in LA.
In the same segment of the show, Pat McAfee also came under fire from the hosts for calling Caitlin Clark a “white bitch” on his ESPN show.

Butker’s performance in Los Angeles on Thursday comes two months after his controversy
Serena, Venus and Quinta told viewers they could call women in sports “athletes, competitors, champions and idiots,” before Serena added: “Call them whatever you want… just don’t call them the b-word. You know who you are.”
Butker is a three-time Super Bowl champion and ranks second in NFL history in field goal percentage (89.1 percent).
In his May address at Benedictine College in Hutchinson, Kansas, he warned female graduates about the “devilish lies” they would hear in today’s society and said he was “more than blessed” to be married because his wife was most fulfilled in her role as “homemaker.”
Following his speech, the NFL player received criticism from a number of notable figures, including Arnold Schwarzenegger’s ex-wife and former First Lady of California, Maria Shriver.
Williams targeted several figures, but Butker’s mention immediately went viral on social media
He visited the White House with his Chiefs teammates after his controversial speech in May
Since then, Butker has made several public appearances this year, including at the White House when the Biden administration hosted the Chiefs to celebrate the team’s victory in the 2022 Super Bowl.
Butker, a devout Christian, said after his comments that he has no regrets about expressing his beliefs and that he values his religion more than football.
“It’s a decision I made consciously and I have absolutely no regrets,” he said on May 24 at the Regina Caeli Academy Courage Under Fire Gala in Nashville, Tennessee.
Since then, he has appeared on the red carpet with his wife Isabelle, but she was nowhere to be seen at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles on Thursday night.
