Video shows the moment when the suspected Ukrainian drone exploded on the roof of the FSB building in Kurchatov, the site of the Kursk nuclear power plant.
Regional governor Roman Starovoyt said: “A strike by a Ukrainian drone caused a fire in a non-residential building in the city of Kurchatov.
‘The fire was out. Nobody got hurt.’
In addition, a huge fire raged in a warehouse in the Moscow region.
The flames spread to 13,000 square feet as more than 20 flights were delayed and another eight canceled at Moscow’s major international airports due to kamikaze drones.
According to unconfirmed Russian reports, the warehouse contained “paints and varnishes.”
But Vladimir Putin’s troops claimed to have inflicted heavy casualties on Ukraine.
Naval aircraft are said to have destroyed four US-supplied Willard Sea Force speedboats as they attempted to land near Cape Tarkhankut on the coast of Russia-annexed Crimea.
Ukraine has recently attempted to stage several landings on the occupied territory, but disputes Russia’s claim to the four boats.

Russia also claimed to have “wiped out” more than 125 Ukrainian marines in the southern Donetsk area.
“More than 125 Ukrainian soldiers, an armored fighting vehicle and two cars were destroyed,” the Moscow defense ministry said.
Meanwhile, a Russian general has admitted that there is a shortage of recruits for the Russian mobilization.
Over the weekend, former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said some 280,000 people had signed contracts with the defense ministry since the start of the year.
Some were reservists and some volunteers.
But Lieutenant General Viktor Sobolev — now a Communist MP — said the target was 400,000, suggesting a 120,000 shortfall in the Kremlin’s plans.
“We need 400,000 in total,” he said.
“This is thanks to what our General Staff has planned: the creation of new associations, formations and units.
“This number is set in such a way that there will be no more mobilizations, which we are not quite ready for yet.”
