Moment raging ‘British’ holidaymaker ‘tried to open door’ of plane waiting to take off from Croatia

This is the terrifying moment a ‘British’ passenger on a Ryanair flight from Croatia tries to open the plane door before they take off.

The unnamed man, believed to be from the UK and aged 27, is seen yelling at other passengers and cabin crew in the aisle of the plane as it prepares to leave Zadar Airport on June 30.

In a series of videos shared on TikTok, the man can be seen raising his clenched fist and lunging for the plane’s door, while other flyers shout “oh my god!”

A woman yells, “What’s he doing?!” before brave passengers push themselves against him and tackle him to the ground.

The traveler, dressed in black shorts and a white T-shirt, is then escorted off the flight by Croatian police.

Two officers are filmed dragging the person across the tarmac as he struggles to stand on his own two feet.

A woman who uploaded video of the incident said many passengers were returning home after partying at the Hideout Festival.

One of them accused the man of being drunk, a claim that has not yet been confirmed by the police.

MailOnline has contacted Ryanair for comment.

That reports the local news center BNNZadar police arrested the Briton and launched an investigation.

The news site said the man was a professional boxer, but his identity has yet to be confirmed.

It comes after British passengers feared for their lives when an ‘extremely drunk’ passenger allegedly tried to open the plane door on a Jet2 flight from Turkey to the UK, forcing the flight to make an emergency landing.

Flight LS124, on its way to Glasgow and packed with holidaymakers traveling home from the tourist hot spot of Bodrum, made an emergency landing in Bulgaria last night.

After noticing what he was doing, passengers sitting next to the man allegedly bravely tackled him before alerting the crew and grounding the plane. Police in Sofia then boarded the plane and arrested him.

In a shocking video, the man can be seen stumbling and appearing to resist officers as he is pushed down the plane’s aisle, as irate passengers yell “son of a bitch” and “idiot” at him.

The incident happened at around 10pm BST on the overnight flight and a passenger told MailOnline that they eventually landed in Glasgow with their family in the early hours of the morning.

The traveler, who declined to be named, said: “A man who was extremely drunk and was sitting in the emergency exit row tried to open the door midway through the flight.

‘[It] looked like he might have woken up and didn’t know where he was or something.

“He was stopped by a woman sitting alone and an older man in another chair.

“I realized what was happening when people started yelling and screaming. I felt terrified for my children’s lives and the safety of everyone on the plane.”

Passengers feared for their safety during the terrifying ordeal, as concerned parents and their children watched as the man was removed from the plane.

Now that their family is safely home, one passenger said they are fine after the nightmarish journey and praised the budget airline’s flight attendants.

‘We are doing well now. A bit shocked and thankful that the Jet2 staff handled the situation so professionally.

“We landed in Glasgow early this morning and have no further information on the man in the video at this time.”

A spokesman for Jet2 said: ‘Flight LS124 from Bodrum to Glasgow was diverted to Sofia Airport last night so that a disruptive passenger could be unloaded by police. After a short delay, the flight continued to Glasgow.

“We would like to apologize to all affected customers for the inconvenience. As a family-friendly airline, we have zero tolerance for disruptive passenger behavior, and the health, comfort and well-being of everyone will always be our number one priority.”
