A raccoon broke into a Colorado Parks and Wildlife office, then refused to leave during a rainstorm.

Rangers heard some rustling in one of their regional offices in Grand Junction Wednesday morning.

When they went to investigate, they found the brutal beast above a box of mail and papers on the towering cupboard.

Footage shows the park ranger entering with a long stick in an attempt to catch the raccoon.

The feisty creature tries to back off – using its paws – but when it backed up it hit the corner of the wall – realizing it had no other place to go.

After a few tries, the ranger successfully catches the raccoon and pulls it to the ground and out of danger – as the raccoon is seen squirming.

The ranger is seen walking the raccoon to the outside doors and releasing the raccoon.

“The raccoon explored a few other offices before finding one that was just right this morning to stay warm and dry,” CPW said.

Officials from the Northwest region seemed amused by the incident and posted it on social media, along with a photo of viewers telling the whole story and sharing that their mission had been successfully accomplished.

“Keeping things exciting at the @cpw_nw-regions office on the morning of Grand Junction,” the caption read in part.
