Moment Princess Charlotte smiles as she shakes hands with clergy as she stands with her brothers at Kate Middleton’s Christmas carol concert

This is the sweet moment Princess Charlotte showed off her good manners as she shared a polite handshake with clergy at the Princess of Wales' annual carol concert at Westminster Abbey last night.

The eight-year-old royal was on her best behavior as she greeted members of the church in the abbey's Lady Chapel with a sweet smile.

Charlotte looked just like her smart mum as she wore a Β£180 burgundy double-breasted wool coat from Trotters.

While attending the concert, the middle child of the Prince and Princess of Wales posted letters to children less fortunate than herself, along with his older siblings, Prince Louis, 5, and Prince George, 10.

The trio stood proudly alongside their parents – as well as other senior royals – as they held candles and sang Christmas carols in the banquet hall filled with 1,500 people.

This year's Together At Christmas service – supported by the Royal Foundation – was held to honor those working to support babies, young children and families across the UK.

Linked to Kate's Shaping Us campaign, the service showed 'the hope of new life and why it is so important to build supportive, nurturing worlds around children and adults in their lives'.

While it was filmed on December 8, the full concert was broadcast to the public last night on ITV.

Elsewhere, the adorable Prince Louis captured the nation's hearts last night.

Fans went wild when an adorable clip showed the young royal's eyes lighting up as actor Jim Broadbent, 74, read JRR Tolkien's The Father Christmas Letters.

The five-year-old, who had 'Christmas magic in his eyes', was seen nudging his mother Kate, whispering 'mama' and pointing at the award-winning star as he read to the audience.

Prince Louis was previously too young to attend his mother's annual Christmas concert, but his debut did not disappoint.

One wrote on social media: 'Look how excited Prince Louis was to see Jim Broadbent, it was beautiful.'

Another said: 'My favorite part of the whole service was Prince Louis' adorable reactions. He is so cute.'

A third added: 'He's a beautiful 5 year old with an enchanting smile for Christmas.'

At the end of Broadbent's lecture, Prince William and Prince George also exchanged smiles as festive cheer spread through the chapel.
