- The police officer determinedly pursued the moped rider on foot after the accident
This is the dramatic moment a police motorcycle crashed into a fleeing suspect’s scooter before the officer chased him on foot around a McDonald’s drive-thru.
Video shows how the vehicle failed to stop after being stopped by the officer for allegedly driving without number plates on Eltham Road in Eltham, South East London.
While pursuing the suspect on his own motorcycle, the chase soon took an unexpected turn after the officer’s vehicle crashed into the scooter, sending them both sprawled across the road.
The officer then followed the moped rider on foot in a chase during which the pair drove around a McDonald’s drive-thru.
Video of the chase was captured by an onlooker on the sidewalk, who filmed as the two bikes sped past.
