More than 60 police vehicles drove to a Miami marketplace on Monday evening after police tried to stop a gathering of youths armed with sticks.

The incident — which lit up the street with blue and red flashes — happened around 10:30 p.m. at Bayside Market Place, an outdoor shopping center in downtown Miami.

Police told DailyMail.com that city officers were on the scene to control the crowd after the youths refused to leave.

They claimed no injuries have been reported and no arrests have been made yet, but still needed dozens of police officers and cars to bring the situation under control.

However, the police did tell CBS Miami that later on Monday evening a driver was beaten up by a group of fifteen youths, which they said was related to the brawl in the market.

It is unclear whether any arrests have been made and whether the driver has been hospitalized.

A number of local businesses were forced to close temporarily to allow authorities to respond to the fighting.

Police said the youths have since “scattered” and the police presence has largely disappeared.

This was said by a person from the area who had witnessed the fight through a liver stream 7News what he saw: a group of girls cornering each other and fighting before it was known that the police had arrived on the scene.

Around 11:30 PM local time, Miami police reported on X that the area had been cleared and traffic was flowing normally.
