Moment Miley Cyrus walks the red carpet into the Grammys with her bodyguard holding an umbrella sparks wild speculation on social media
Social media sleuths have sparked wild theories about Miley Cyrus’ security details after her red carpet walk at the Grammys.
The 31-year-old pop star attended the awards ceremony on Sunday with a security team in tow. She entered the event in a custom-made gold metallic mesh Maison Margiela dress, accompanied by a bodyguard with an umbrella and several escorts.
But social media users have now suggested that the Flowers singer’s escort was actually armed and had his weapon hidden in an umbrella or under a plastic limb.
YouTuber Matt Wallace, who shared footage of her red carpet walk on
He claimed that the umbrella was evidence that Cyrus may be “in danger” and suggested that it was part of the bodyguard’s attempt to hide the fact that he was keeping a gun in his jacket.
But other users hit back, claiming there was nothing unusual about the escort’s accessory and that he was likely carrying it due to “heavy rain” in Los Angeles.

YouTuber Matt Wallace claimed her bodyguard was carrying a gun. He said there is either a “hidden weapon, such as a firearm, in the umbrella” or that “this is a fake hand.” He said the technology used in fake limbs today is ‘so good you don’t even know it anymore’
Footage of Cyrus’ red carpet walk has racked up more than 38.4 million views on X and more than 14,000 likes on TikTok to date.
A video Wallace posted on YouTube explaining his theory had been viewed nearly 18,000 times as of Monday morning.
“Look at the bodyguard’s hand,” Wallace said in the video. ‘You see that the right hand is moving at a normal speed. The left hand does not.
‘There is an umbrella in the left hand, but not everything is as it seems.’
The YouTuber said there are “two possibilities” because the escort’s left hand “is not moving at a normal pace.”

He said that “based on the fact that (the left hand) is not swinging at the same speed” as the right arm, it “looks like it’s one of those two.”
The YouTuber added, “This is very common.”

Another claimed that Cyrus’ security guard had “acted so mysteriously at the Grammys.”
But many other users branded Wallace a ‘conspiracy theorist’ and claimed there was nothing more to see than a bodyguard carrying an umbrella.
