Moment lead singer of iconic rock band Jane’s Addiction explodes onstage, punches guitarist mid-song

The lead singer of the iconic rock band Jane’s Addiction got into an altercation with guitarist Dave Navarro during a performance in Boston on Friday night.

Frontman Perry Farrell screamed into the microphone before walking over to guitarist Dave Navarro and punching him, causing a brawl and the show being stopped mid-song.

Fans at the concert say tensions seemed to flare during the songs, with some witnesses saying Farrell even started yelling at Navarro during “Mountain Song.”

The tension only seemed to build as the band played through ‘Three Days’, until Farrell finally made his move at the end of ‘Ocean Days’ and attacked Navarro.

This brought the evening program to an abrupt end.

Navarro appeared completely surprised when crew members ran onto the stage and grabbed Farrell in an attempt to pull him away.

Farrell was told to stop swinging at him and had to be restrained before being dragged off stage by members of the crew and bassist Eric Avery, but he appeared particularly agitated.

The lights on the stage dimmed, making it difficult for the audience to see exactly what was happening. The area was then bathed in dark blue lighting as the band walked away.

Moments later, Navarro, Avery and drummer Stephen Perkins reunited onstage and hugged, waved to the crowd and made peace gestures. Loyal fans in the audience went wild as they clapped and cheered.

The band has tours planned for the rest of this month. It is their first tour in 15 years and will last until mid-October. However, it is unclear whether the tour will continue after the riot on stage.

Fans who posted messages on X on Friday night believe the band has finally reached the end of their career.

“This was definitely the last day of J Addiction,” one fan wrote.

“Well it looks like the band isn’t getting back together. That was wild. Kids, let this be a lesson…don’t do drugs and the anger will eat you up inside,” added another.

‘I was there. The audience was stunned. Half pissed that the show ended early and half excited that we might have seen the last Janes A-show ever,’ wrote a third.

The trouble appears to have started in New York City, where the band performed two nights earlier this week at Manhattan venue Pier 17, overlooking the East River.

Earlier this week, rumors circulated on social media that there were tensions between members of the group.

At one point, Farrell even admitted to the audience at Pier 17 that his voice was not in good condition.

“Ladies and gentlemen, I have to be honest with you. There’s something wrong with my voice. I can’t get the notes out of it anymore,” he said.

Bassist Eric Avery acknowledged the underperformance in New York in an Instagram post, writing, “I’m looking forward to another chance tonight at this spectacular rooftop venue. I’m optimistic we’ll be better.”
