A Kansas City, Kansas, police officer pinned down a Walmart customer and knelt on his neck after accusing him of stealing a $5 frozen pizza — despite the 24-year-old man having proof of purchase.
Dayton Borisouth, 24, claims he was tackled to the ground at a Walmart store in Kansas on June 1 after refusing to show his receipt to an off-duty officer — believing he wasn’t required by law to show one .
He had bought the frozen pizza at the self-checkout just before and opted for no bag to avoid unnecessary waste, he said. When asked by a cop if he had a receipt, he replied “yes,” but didn’t stop to show it to the cop.
Moments later, he claimed that he was pressed against the brick wall by the officer.
‘I shook my head no [when I saw him coming]and said, “Stop chasing me. You have no right to hold me. I didn’t break any law,” and then he pinned me in the corner where the claw machine was,” Borisouth told WIFR.
The Kansas City Kansas Police Department said two of the three unnamed officers involved in the incident will be disciplined and will receive additional training.

At one point, an officer was seen kneeling on his neck as they restrained him
Borisouth immediately went to get his receipt, which was in his left pocket, and told the officer that he did, but the police officer reportedly told him to ‘stop reaching into your pockets’.
Borisouth, who was shirtless at the time, said he carried a “work knife” but “had no intention of using it.”
This is when his uncle, Christopher Enloe, began filming the interaction, which has now over 400,000 views on TikTok.
By then the officer had his arms around Borisouth’s shoulders as he yelled, “Here’s the receipt, bro, read it, dumba**.” The officer made no attempt to locate the receipt.
The unknown officer pinned Borisouth on his stomach, just a foot away from his thawing pizza. Borisouth asked the officer several times if he had ‘read the receipt’ as his uncle begged him not to resist.
“Can you let him read the receipt?” Borisouth asks his relative as two other officers arrive, violently grabbing his arms, who pulls the victim under his head and asks the officers to “calm down.”
Borisouth was charged with refusing to comply, but was later dropped.

Cops can be seen trying to pull his arms out before threatening to “break your nose.” Borisouth said he put his hands under his head because he thought they would knock it to the ground.
Moments later, the same officer pressed his knee to Borisouth’s neck as he screamed in terror as two officers knelt on top of him while a third handcuffed him. Customers began to shout in protest, but no one intervened to stop the altercation.
When the blue-haired victim was lifted to his feet, his receipt was on the floor.
He was taken into the back of a police car, where he was to remain for an hour. He was then told he was being released because the receipt showed he had paid for the pizza.
However, he was charged with refusing to comply, but was later dropped.

Moments later, he claimed to have been pinned to the brick wall by the officer
The department stated that an officer used a technique that was “not approved or trained by the department.”
“We are determined that due to the circumstances at that time, the officer should have dropped out,” the department said.
Borisouth believes that the officers should ‘in any case receive a suspension’ for the ‘serious’ violations.
“George Floyd died of that,” he told WIFR.
But now that the charges have been dropped, Borisouth says he “feels a little better that they’re starting to realize I’m not a criminal.”
“I was just trying to buy a pizza for my family. Whatever happens, this will stay with me for the rest of my life. I will probably always fear the police now and fear for my daughter and my son and what they will have to go through when they get older,” he told the outlet.
