An ice cream van was dramatically washed out to sea in a beautiful spot in Cornwall on Sunday afternoon.

Footage shows the stranded ‘Kelly Whip’ bus being buffeted by waves after it was swept into the water at Harlyn Bay Beach, north of Newquay in Cornwall.

A brave group of people jumped into the water to save the bus before it was hit by the high water.

They were later seen trying to pull the van from the water as dozens of other stunned beachgoers looked on in the background.

But the rising tide was too strong and the ice cream truck was eventually abandoned, the waves crashing against a cliff.
