Moment Florida porch pirate, 32, is caught stealing Amazon packages from homes before admitting to cops she was planning to RE-GIFT them over Christmas
A 32-year-old Florida porch pirate was caught on camera stealing Amazon packages from homes before admitting to police she planned to “re-gift” them for Christmas.
Kensley Mott has since been arrested after surveillance footage captured her walking to the porch, taking numerous Amazon boxes and loading them into a red truck.
Mott allegedly followed an Amazon truck on Monday afternoon and immediately stole the packages after they were delivered to a porch in Winter Haven, Florida.
After her arrest, Mott confessed to the thefts and told authorities she planned to re-donate the stolen items at Christmas, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.
Mott was booked into the Polk County Sheriff's Office Jail on charges of grand larceny, petit larceny and two counts of burglary of a habitation.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office received a report of package theft in a Winter Haven neighborhood Monday between noon and 12:30 p.m.
The victim's surveillance video showed the suspect walking directly to the porch and stealing numerous Amazon boxes before driving away in a red truck.
Detectives identified Mott based on her appearance in the footage and confirmed she worked at Hungry Howie's pizza in the Wahneta area of Winter Haven.
Officers found Mott at the restaurant and arrested her Tuesday.
When asked about the theft, she told officers she planned to re-donate the stolen packages at Christmas.
When deputies asked her to return the boxes to their owners, she refused, Sheriff Grady Judd said during Wednesday's news conference.
When shown the surveillance footage of her theft, she said, “What if it was someone else who only had my face?”
“Now she has a red nose because she cried at one point,” Judd said.
“This isn't 'Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.' This is Kensley, the criminal with the red nose. Locked up. Porch pirate,” the sheriff added.

Mott's lengthy criminal history includes arrests dating back to 2016 for petit larceny, grand larceny and narcotics possession.
The victim also reported that one of the neighbors had also attempted package theft a week ago, but did not catch it on camera.
The Polk County Sheriff's Office recommended that residents invest in a security system, especially during the holidays when porch pirates are common.
“It's the time of year when porch pirates are most common. If possible, have your packages delivered when someone is home, to a friend or neighbor, or to your business,” Judd said.
'If not, invest in a security system that immediately alerts you if someone is on your veranda. This prolific thief will likely spend Christmas behind bars this year.”
