Hilarious footage shows a flock of sheep desperately chasing a passing dog after apparently mistaking it for a lamb.

Lexi Wolfe was walking in Brockhill Park, Kent, on Saturday when she heard a chorus of disturbing bleats from a flock of sheep in a nearby field.

Mrs Wolfe, from Sheffield, Yorkshire, was left stranded after realizing the sheep were chasing a small white dog in the apparent belief that it was a lamb that had been led astray.

Her video shows a long line of sheep trailing behind the dog as it approaches the end of the field with its owner. They had previously lain in the shade of a tree.

A caption to the video reads, “When sheep think they’ve lost a lamb, but they haven’t.”

Mrs. Wolfe says in the video, “What’s going on here is all these sheep have come out from under this tree – because it’s a scorching hot day – because in the distance is this little dog that looks like a lamb.”

You can hear the sheep bleating as they approach the little white dog, who is walking with his unsuspecting owner.

The sheep continue to bleat louder as they fearfully call the dog back to the flock, believing it to be one of their own.

Mrs. Wolfe continues, “So all these sheep are convinced that someone has run off with a lamb.”

The camera zooms in closer again as Mrs. Wolfe asks the viewers, “See that? They think that’s a lamb and they literally yuck after it.’

As the sheep approach, she adds, “A minute ago they were dead silent and now they’re just like ‘Come back!'”

Ms Wolfe shared her video on social media on Saturday.

One concerned commenter wrote: ‘No! And they’re all worried.’

Another joked, “Step one, get yourself a little white fluffy dog.” Step two, steal an entire herd of sheep.”

A third commented, “They think they just witnessed a kidnapping.”

A fourth added: ‘Not a lamb left behind.’

Mrs Wolfe said today: ‘So we were at Brockhill Park in Kent. The sheep all stood still under the big tree you see in the video about a minute before.

“In front of us is this little white fluffy toy poodle or terrier — not sure. They have walked ahead, we go to a higher path.

“A minute later I heard all those sheep chattering loudly, having busied themselves in their woolly business beforehand, and a few had broken off, looking anxiously at this little white fuzzy dog, and I realized what must have happened.

‘About three minutes later we passed the sheep on higher ground and as they had all moved they had each found a new patch of grass to distract themselves.

‘So I hope no ewes [who’ve] lost a lamb earlier in the spring and thought it was theirs.”
