Moment distracted driver flies off steep CLIFF in Oregon, with cops saying victim was ‘lucky to survive’

A car in Oregon went off the side of a cliff and plunged 200 feet into an embankment.
Oregon State Police shared the harrowing footage of the crash, writing in a Facebook post that the crash on Highway 224 happened “after the driver took his eyes off the roadway.”
In the nerve-wracking dashcam video, the car approaches a bend in the road but shows no signs of slowing down.
Instead, the car speeds to the edge of the highway and shoots through a gap between the tall pine trees that flank the road.

A rescue effort was launched to remove the driver from the wreckage, who was miraculously unhurt
Video shows the moment the car left the ground (almost as if it had gone down a slope) and fell off the embankment out of sight.
The incident took place within seconds.
Despite their dangerous fall, the driver was still able to climb out of his vehicle and miraculously suffered only minor injuries.
First responders had to perform a rope rescue to drag the survivor up the 200-foot embankment.
The driver was then rushed to a nearby trauma center for treatment.
On social media, viewers expressed concern about the driver in the video.

“Please tell me they survived,” someone else wished.
Other viewers noted that there was no guardrail on the winding road.

And some viewers who knew the driver survived expressed relief and surprise.
