Moment desperate easyJet captain tells topless passenger ‘you’re only making things worse for yourself’ as furious Brit traveller screams ‘you’ve f*****d us all up’ after ‘brawl’ forced Gatwick flight to divert to Athens

This is the moment a desperate easyJet captain begged a topless passenger to sit down and wait for police after forcing a landing in Athens due to the disruption.

Video showed the troublemaker arguing with fellow travelers before being taken off the flight from Turkey to London Gatwick on Tuesday.

The cabin crew and another passenger try to de-escalate the situation, while shouts of protest can be heard in the background.

“To the people who are fighting: the police are waiting for us at the gate. You’re only making things worse for yourself. Please sit down,” the captain says over the loudspeaker.

Passengers are visibly irritated by the unnecessary delay, with one woman shouting at the man: ‘You fooled us all, you stupid bastard. You fooled us all.”

Employees are seen trying to dress the man as he shuffles down the aisle to another passenger who meets him in the middle.

The staff also tries to guide the topless man to the back, pointing down the aisle.

But as the captain warns to calm down, the man moves down the aisle for more abuse from his white-jacketed opponent.

The man in white appears to sarcastically applaud the captain’s voiceover before being led back to his seat by another steward.

Passengers are clearly frustrated by this point and are shouting at those causing the delays.

A caption on the original TikTok video reads: “Flight back from Turkey diverted to Athens because guys can’t handle their drinks.”

In the background the woman shouts again: ‘You’re a bully.’

The topless man eventually gives in and sheepishly walks with the steward to the back of the plane.

The clip was shared on social media yesterday with the caption: ‘Flying back to Gatwick from Antalya, the plane is diverted to Athens because of the topless man.

‘The other man gets involved and is eventually sent away as well. A big shout out to the flight attendants, who did a great job.”

Viewers shared their own experiences and irritations.

One wrote: ‘I hope easyJet has billed them thousands of pounds for diverting all the money they lost.’

A second commented: ‘It’s only a matter of time before they start banning drinking because of smelters like this who can’t handle their drink. If you jail them, they might think twice.”

Another said: ‘The airlines should be banned for life. As soon as you [have] If you have done that with Ryanair and easyJet, you have much less choice when you go on holiday.’

A fourth added: ‘Why do Brits revolve their lives around drinking, drinking, drinking? This is what happens in the end. I’m not generalizing, but this is why alcohol is not the right choice.’

Another joked: ‘Imagine being gently raised by the pilot on the way back from holiday.’

An easyJet spokesperson said: ‘Flight EZY8558 from Antalya to London Gatwick on October 1 was diverted to Athens and was met by police after landing due to two passengers behaving disruptively on board.

‘easyJet cabin crew are trained to assess and evaluate all situations and to act quickly and appropriately to ensure that the safety of the flight and other passengers is not compromised at any time.

“Although such incidents are rare, we take them very seriously and will not tolerate disruptive behavior on board.

‘The safety and well-being of passengers and crew is always easyJet’s top priority.’
