- Broncos secured a place in the NRL grand final with a big win over NZ
- One fan decided to cause trouble with his choice of clothing
- Was captured on video as police threw him out of the stadium
A footy fan has been caught on video being ejected from the Brisbane Broncos NRL preliminary final against the New Zealand Warriors for wearing a jersey that caused a stir.
While the majority of supporters at Suncorp Stadium wore their Broncos or Warriors jerseys during the match on Saturday evening, the fan decided to wear a Crusaders top from the rival code rugby union.
The jersey would always incite the parochial crowd and the man quickly bit back, trading barbs with supporters from both sides.
The fan pointed at other supporters while shouting and pulling at the emblem on the Super Rugby team strip.
Before the situation could escalate to violence, he was escorted off the ground by Queensland Police.

“This is what happens when you wear the wrong shirt during the competition,” one visitor posted along with a video of the incident.
“Typical rugby fan… you can’t wear that to a league match,” someone replied on TikTok.
“You have to be a special kind of stupid to start a fight in a stadium these days,” another commented.
“Pays all that money just to pass as a Fwit,” another added.
The Crusaders are the most successful team in Super Rugby history with twelve titles between 1998 and 2023.
Some fans pointed out that when you have that level of success, you can wear whatever you want.
“No one can beat the Crusaders for eight titles in a row,” one person wrote.
“Everyone gets jealous when you wear the best sports team jersey in the southern hemisphere,” another added.
‘Too much beer. To be fair he was wearing the winning team jersey,” another posted.
Most football fans managed to wear jerseys of the correct league to the match

To make matters worse for the confused fan, he was also reportedly thrown from a train later that night while trying to get home.
“This is the same man who got kicked off the train on the way home,” one follower posted. ‘Was funny like. A few thrusts were given and the train had to stop.’
“Man, I’m not surprised. He railed hard against a few supporters all evening. The crowd had had enough,” replied another.
“Overall a bad night for this guy,” another added.
Queensland Police have been contacted for comment.
