Moment British YouTube star Yung Filly is led through airport in handcuffs before climbing into waiting car as he’s charged in Australia over alleged rape of woman in hotel

This is the moment British YouTuber and BBC star Yung Filly is led out of an airport in handcuffs after being arrested on suspicion of raping a woman at a hotel in Australia.

Internet star Filly, real name Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, was arrested in Brisbane on Tuesday and extradited to Perth on Wednesday.

The 29-year-old YouTuber is accused of sexually assaulting a woman in her 20s at his hotel on September 28 after a performance at Bar1 Nightclub in Hillarys, Perth.

The rapper, whose rapid fame landed him his own BBC show Hot Property in 2019, had performed at the Havana Nightclub on the Gold Coast two days before his arrest.

Western Australia (WA) police sent detectives to Brisbane, Queensland, on Tuesday evening to arrest him and appeared before magistrates in the city to have his extradition to Perth approved.

Footage broadcast by 9News showed the rapper arriving in Washington in handcuffs before being led to the backseat of a car outside.

He has been charged with four counts of sexual penetration without consent, three counts of assault and one count of impeding a person’s normal breathing or circulation by putting pressure on the neck.

Barrientos, who was born in Colombia but moved to Britain as a refugee, appeared in the Perth Magistrates Court on Thursday. He spoke to confirm his name and that he understood the allegations.

WToday reports that top lawyer Seamus Rafferty, on behalf of the YouTuber, has requested anonymity in the case, arguing that publishing his name would jeopardize his right to a fair trial. The request was rejected by the judge.

Police are said to have resisted granting bail due to the nature of the charges, CCTV footage and the possibility he could interfere with witnesses, while prosecutors argued he was a flight risk given his huge income.

Magistrate Tanya Watt granted bail but imposed conditions requiring him to remain in Western Australia and not speak about the case on social media.

He also had to surrender his passport and report to police three times a week, and had to sign a AU$100,000 bond and agree not to visit hotels or nightclubs and to stay 500 meters away from the alleged victim and witnesses.

He will appear in court again on December 19. ABC reported that fans of the star appeared to gather in the public gallery to watch the proceedings.

The event at Bar1, where Mr Barrientos performed before the alleged attack, marketed the British rapper’s performance as the ‘ultimate evening escapade’.

‘The event promises to be a seamless mix of spontaneity, humor and music that you can talk about for weeks!’ said MoshTix.

Yung Filly, who started his YouTube channel in 2013, first rose to fame working with Beta Squad, a group that also included his best friend Chunkz. In 2022, he teamed up with Chunkz again to host the MOBO Awards.

Filly has also appeared in videos with the Sidemen, which includes YouTube sensation KSI, and later delved into the music industry.

He recently collaborated with fellow British rapper Aitch on the song Grey, which received over 2.5 million views on YouTube and 10 million streams on Spotify.

Earlier this year, Yung Filly appeared on the Jonathan Ross show where he talked about the possibility of his mother retiring

The 29-year-old also presented several shows on the BBC – including Hot Property and Yung Filly’s Celeb Lock-In – and appeared on Channel 4’s The Great Celebrity Bake Off.

As he has become more of a high-profile figure, Yung Filly has starred in Soccer Aid and appeared in Would I Lie to You?

Mr. Barrientos has also worked with several fashion brands, including recent collaborations with ASOS and Perplex, as well as many major companies including McDonald’s, Heinz, British fashion retailer Primark and Captain Morgan Rum.

His Australian tour had started in Perth before heading to Melbourne, Sydney and the Gold Coast where he played four shows.

Yung Filly made it more than three million followers Instagram and 1.84 million subscribers on YouTube.

His 85 videos have been viewed nearly 120 million times since he joined YouTube in November 2013.

It is estimated that Yung Filly’s net worth is between $1 million and $2 million.

He first started making videos after a video of his ex cheating on him went viral and was viewed millions of times on Facebook.

Last month, Filly shared a series of photos on Instagram, including shots of him hanging out with England striker Ivan Toney and rapper Aitch.

The YouTuber also appeared on the BBC show Jonathan Ross earlier this year alongside Oscar-nominated actress Kirsten Dunst, Industry star Marisa Abela, Lionesses goalkeeper Mary Earps and Madness.

During the show he told the audience how he knew he had made it when he left his mother to work at Poundland.

He said: ‘She used to work in Poundland and it got to the point where people saw the resemblance between me and her and said, ‘Are you Filly’s mum?’ And some people asked for pictures and she was really embarrassed.

“I remember calling her once and telling her, ‘Mom, you can quit your job, I’ve got you now.

‘She didn’t know how to deal with it. Months passed, she was still working and I said, ‘Mom, seriously, you don’t have to work anymore. Then I made her my PA.”

Filly has previously spoken of his pride in being a refugee, when his family left Colombia for Britain when he was just two years old. They settled in Lewisham, south-east London, where they lived above a Morley’s fried chicken shop.

He told Amazon Prime in 2020: “I am most proud of the fact that I was a refugee, I am proud that I had to struggle. It makes you appreciate all the little things much more. I don’t think I really realized how poor we were.’

He added: “I was born in Colombia and unfortunately I don’t know much about Colombia. But as far as I know, it’s a happy place… when I think about my culture, I’m proud of the atmosphere of the country, the people and the food.’

When asked about the impact of working on social media, he once revealed: ‘Has it had a positive or negative impact on my mental health? A little bit of both. I suffer from anxiety.

‘I’ve been having panic attacks recently. It has made me known and being known is what causes me fear. But social media has changed my life.”

Earlier this year he also played football with some of the sport’s former greats, such as David Villa, Kaka and Chelsea legend Drogba, in a star-studded charity match in Qatar.

MailOnline has contacted Yung Filly’s representatives for comment.
