Moment Arsenal mascot shoves and taunts Tottenham counterparts ahead of north London derby as Piers Morgan jokes: ‘Even our mascots are harder!’

Arsenal’s young mascot ventured into a north London derby by pushing his Tottenham colleague away before the match.

Fifteen minutes before kick-off, Mikel Arteta’s players returned to the players’ tunnel after completing their pre-match warm-up.

Four Tottenham mascots put their arms out to receive high fives from Arsenal players, but some Gunners players ignored them.

Seconds later they were approached by an Arsenal mascot, who pushed and challenged them before walking away.

Arsenal fans, including Piers Morgan, took to social media to react to the moment.

“Even our mascots are stronger than Tottenham’s…,” Morgan posted on X, along with laughing emojis.

Another Arsenal fan wrote: ‘I think it’s great and I have to commend the calmness of the Spurs mascots too’.

A third said: ‘What a handsome boy, he deserves a medal’, while a fourth posted: ‘This mascot is my hero’.

Ahead of the match, former Gunners striker Paul Merson stressed that it is a decisive week for Arsenal as they face Atalanta and Manchester City after their clash with Tottenham.

“I think it’s all or nothing, really. I think they need to get four points from the next two games. If they don’t, I think when they catch Man City, people will say there’s still 30 games to go,” Merson said.

‘You’re chasing one of the best machines and the best teams we’ve ever seen, absolutely in the history of the Premier League. So for me this is a massive football game.’

‘Don’t worry about Thursday (Atalanta), they have eight (CL games). The next two games are huge and they have injuries and suspensions.’
