Mom of one of Jeffrey Dahmer’s victims Tony Hughes slams Ariana Grande after she revealed serial killer who murdered and dismembered 17 men was her dream dinner party guest

The mother of one of Jeffrey Dahmer’s victims has criticized Ariana Grande after the singer shockingly revealed the serial killer, who brutally murdered more than a dozen men, was her dream dinner party guest.

The ‘Thank u, next’ singer was criticized after appearing on an episode of the audio show Podcrushed – hosted by ‘Gossip Girl’ and ‘You’ actor Penn Badgley.

During the interview, she recalled the moment she told a “young fan” that she fantasized about having dinner with the killer – who had raped, dismembered and murdered at least 17 boys and men between 1978 and 1991.

Her macabre confession came after she revealed she had been “in love with serial killers” from a young age.

“I mean Jeffrey Dahmer is quite fascinating,” she told the fan – a comment that didn’t sit well with Shirley Hughes, whose son Tony was slaughtered by the serial killer in 1991.

In response to last week’s episode, Shirley said TMZ she hopes Ariana understands how hurtful the comments are.

She also said she was disturbed when the pop star laughed about her fascination with Dahmer during the podcast.

‘To me it seems like she is sick in the head. It’s not fancy or funny to say you wanted to go out to dinner with him. It is also not something you should say to young people, which she says she has done,” says Shirley.

According to Tony’s sister Barbara, Dahmer’s remarks are a glorification of himself. He was beaten to death in prison by a fellow inmate in 1994.

Tony, a deaf and non-verbal gay model, was lured to his apartment by Dahmer on May 24, 1991, before being murdered and dismembered. His skull was found in Dahmer’s apartment after the killer’s arrest later that year.

The Hughes family weren’t the only ones who disapproved of Ariana’s comments. Fans also condemned the singer’s comments as ‘despicable’ and ‘offensive’, labeling her as ‘tone deaf’.

In a thread titled ‘Ariana Grande would like to have dinner with Jeffrey Dahmer’, the artist was said to have been ‘terribly offensive’.

One person wrote: ‘I didn’t even see the clip because this is exactly what I thought when I read the headline. Unless the question is “Which serial killer would you have dinner with” and you have a gun to your head, there’s no reason to say this.

Someone else added: ‘That was heartbreaking to see. Can you imagine having your loved ones murdered in such gruesome ways and then glorifying the killer in the media? I wish people would think about the impact of shows like Dahmer on surviving family members.”

Another user said: ‘Joking about wanting to have dinner with him is sick and terribly insulting to the families of the victims, who are still alive and affected by the tragedy. Let’s stop glorifying these psychopaths and pretending that they delight people deeply. That’s not the case, and if you met them in real life you would quickly realize why.’
