A Pennsylvania mother traveled more than 200 miles in a Lyft to confront her child’s foster family, reportedly firing nine gunshots at them while screaming, “They took my baby!”

Kayla Menne, 25, traveled more than 200 miles from Central Pennsylvania to Kennedy Township, where her biological child lived with caretakers, researchers said.

Witness Duane Mrazec was walking his dog when he saw a woman get out of a red car who appeared to be holding a gun.

The concerned neighbor says that Menne opened fire within seconds on four young children, including her own child, who were outside on the street with their foster parents.

The foster family was on the street in front of this home when Menne was about to start shooting

“I was four to six feet away when she fired,” Mrazek said WPXI. “I can see the flash in that gun at 6 p.m. because she was that close.”

At first he thought it was a toy gun, but when she shot at him, he quickly realized it wasn’t a joke.

Mrazec says that when the bullets were fired, Menne was heard screaming, “You took my baby!”

Without thinking, he says he tackled her to the ground and took the gun from her.

“Everything went blank because I wanted the gun before anyone got killed,” he said.

As the two struggled on the floor, another neighbor — an off-duty police officer — rushed to the house.

“She apologized to me for not letting me be the target, and she said something about her child and ‘arrest me, arrest me,'” Mrazec said.

The pair restrained Menne until officers arrived. She was transported to Heritage Valley Hospital for a psychological evaluation.

Court documents show that Menne faces a range of charges, including felonies of aggravated assault, felonies of simple assault, unlawful carrying of a firearm and reckless endangerment of another person.
