Mom is slammed for buying her kids matching PJs for Christmas family photo… EXCEPT her stepson
A mother who went viral after calling out her son’s stepfather and stepmother during a Christmas portrait is setting the record straight and explaining what really happened.
After a photo of her five-year-old son went viral because his stepmother and father didn’t give him matching pajamas for a family photo shoot, the boy’s mother took to TikTok to share the full story.
Nursing student Taylor, who goes by the username @craveslim on social media explained that “the internet takes things and turns them around.”
The photo showed her son Trü alongside his father, stepmother and two step-siblings, all wearing matching green pajamas.
Trü sat in the middle, wearing black pajamas with “Christmas Crew” written on them.
Taylor started the video by explaining that she and her ex have a regular schedule, where Trü will be with his father every other weekend.
But on December 19, Taylor’s ex wanted to take him away for another weekend, which she agreed to.
He mentioned that Trü needed to get his hair cut before coming to stay with him, but never said anything about the family taking a Christmas photo, which took place on Saturday the 21st.

Nursing student Taylor, who goes by the social media handle @craveslim, explained that “the internet takes things and turns them around.”
She explained that she received the photos from Dad on Christmas Day.
“I’m fine, cute, but why isn’t my son wearing the same pajamas as everyone else?” Taylor wondered, explaining that the pajamas Trü was wearing were the pajamas he would sleep in that night.
In response, her ex said the pajamas were out of stock, while Taylor told him it was “completely wrong” to have him excluded like that, to which her ex never responded.
Taylor then took to Facebook to share her concerns about the situation and ask if she was wrong for feeling angry about the situation.
After receiving a flood of responses, Taylor then posted the Christmas photos to Facebook, making sure to leave the rest of the kids out of the picture in the blink of an eye.
“I sent those from home,” Taylor said of Trü’s pajamas in one second follow up video.
‘It’s something to sleep in, not take professional photos with. My son could have done that too [at] At least I got new, fresh pajamas,” she continued.
“The first picture is just to show that everyone has the same set except my child.”

She explained that her whole problem with the situation was that her son didn’t fit in with the rest of the family.
“The photos were already booked for Dad’s weekend off,” Taylor explained.
“Daddy wasn’t supposed to have my child,” she continued.
‘My child should never have been there. That’s why my child was never part of the plan. I just feel like Dad should have just left his son at my house and all of this would have just been avoided.”
She said that everyone should have had new pajamas for the shoot if they wanted Trü there, explaining that the boy’s father had enough time to find matching pajamas.
Finally, the nursing student also clarified that she is not putting the blame on the stepmother here, after she had a message in response to Taylor.
“I also said I didn’t feel comfortable with him not matching but it was too late because our shoot was literally minutes away and I DEFINITELY didn’t know he would be in our photos and the MOM I BEN, I WOULD NEVERRRRRRRRR EVERRRR LEAVE HIM OUT and I never have,” the stepmother, Riya Lee, wrote on the social media platform.
However, Taylor insisted she never blamed Riya.
To make sure he had a great Christmas holiday, she surprised him with matching pajamas and other fun activities like drinking hot chocolate together.
“I never attacked her, the internet blamed her,” Taylor said.
“I never blamed her, I always blamed it on Dad from the jump,” she added.
DailyMail.com contacted Taylor and Riya for comment.
Speaking to peopleTaylor said her son felt “off” because he didn’t fit in with the rest of his family.
