TikTok mom is facing backlash for keeping the family’s dog even after it bit her three-year-old daughter’s face and defends the decision by saying “he was sick” as she asks for money to help heal the child’s scars
- Mother Klara Tsetkin defended her decision to keep her dog Bart despite him biting
A mother has received comments on TikTok for keeping her dog after it bit her small child, leaving her daughter with scars and requiring stitches to her face.
The mother, named Klara Tsetkin on the video-sharing platform, defended her decision not to let Bart take the dog away or put it down after it bit her three-year-old daughter Milana.
Although Klara claims the cocker spaniel bit her child, she argued on TikTok that he “never attacked” her daughter, claiming it acted in self-defense.
“He was very sick!” she said in a video. ‘And tries to hide under the bed.. his hind legs gave way and he couldn’t crawl away..’
“(Our) 3-year-old daughter didn’t understand that today the dog should rest and not touch him… she started touching him even more, sat on him and climbed into his face and hurt him…”

Many TikTok users were not impressed, with some claiming that Klara’s decision to keep her pet meant that her dog was “more important than [your] daughter’.
Her little girl, now five and a half, was bitten by Bart just over three years ago, and her mom shared a series of clips showing how her skin has healed since then.
“For those who wanted to see what the scar looks like now after a dog bite,” Klara said.
She added that Milana still has a visible scar on her face because of how the procedure took place.

“The doctor didn’t pull the stitches to the end because of a possible infection, so the scar turned out to be wide.
“We plan to do a scar resurfacing. If there are people willing to help our princess, we will be eternally grateful,” she said at the time, providing a link to a fundraising page.
Meanwhile, other users claimed that people calling for the dog to be removed or destroyed were “overreacting” to the mother’s decision to keep her pet.
According to the CDC, 800,000 people in the U.S. seek medical help for dog bites each year, half of them children.
Bites are most common in children ages five to nine, and children under age four are most likely to be bitten on the head or neck due to their height.
